Volunteers are exploring for stolen tools from a venture they had been performing on in Hempstead Thursday night.

The workers had been building a dwelling for a household in want when the tools went lacking.

Gina Centauro, of Rescuing Households, say they missing $25,000 value of machines – which is a significant hit to their charity.

Rescuing Family members has been operating considering that January to make the home handicapped available. The challenge is now on pause.

Several of the stolen tools have been in Vincent Centauro’s loved ones for years.

“From my grandfather, from my dad, which I you should not have any for a longer time,” Vincent Centauro suggests. “Those people have been equipment that have been used just about every working day. I really don’t have these loved ones members below with me any longer. But I was equipped to have individuals instruments. It meant the earth to me to have people.”

A police investigation is underway.

The Centauros are scrambling to elevate revenue by a garden sale Sunday in Franklin Square to replace the tools so they can full the renovations on the property. They program to have other yard income.

“It will not just have an affect on us,” Gina Centauro claims. “It has an effect on every household that we’re encouraging. With no those applications we’re not in a position to help households.”
