Bridgerton season one came and went like a fever dream. The world stopped for a month to watch and dissect the period drama, fall in love with The Duke, rewatch episode five (you know why) on repeat and then finish the whole thing just like that. I get sweaty just thinking about that time of my life. But, while the haze of Bridgerton eventually subsided (kinda) the fashion stuck around. Think about it: corset tops went viral on TikTok every other week, babydoll tops made a comeback and men were suddenly interested in ascots again.

It’s not like everyone was doing a complete Regency-era cosplay, but the maximalism displayed throughout each episode was certainly emulated in my wardrobe and yours, too. The second season hasn’t even officially arrived yet, but searches around these fashion trends are already skyrocketing once again. According to Klarna, the shopping payment service that makes buying designer items finally possible for most of us on a budget, Bridgerton fashion interest is up in some instances more than 400 percent.

Per the service’s records, purchases for corsets have been up a casual 407 percent over the past two months, while purchases for opera gloves were up 234 percent in January alone. Even Olivia Rodrigo showed her love for the trend in her iconic ‘Good 4 U’ music video. This past month, searches for pearl jewelry, puff sleeve dresses and puff sleeve tops all rose, too.

You can’t go on TikTok nowadays without seeing at least one review of a corset top that’s garnered a cool million likes. This kind of style is sexy, chic and a lot more comfortable than you might think. After all, fashion designers have come a long way since the Regency era.

Modegal Corset Bustier

Amazon’s bestselling corset comes in every color of the rainbow and costs under $35 no matter the size (options range from 00-12). This it the top that continues to go viral on TikTok thanks to its affordability and fit. You don’t have to shimmy into this number since it has a zipper in the back that’ll secure you in comfortably. I have this top myself, and trust me when I say: it’s worth it. My advice is to size up if you have bigger boobs and also to get this number in a few colors. They’ll be a staple in your spring and summer wardrobes.

No, long leather black gloves weren’t necessarily in style during the 1800s, but if the fine folks back then saw Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Good 4 U’ music video back then, they certainly would be a look fit for the ballroom. Cosplay a pop star or even Cat Woman while wearing these gloves with your corset top and you’ll be the talk of the town.

Pearls, Pearls, Pearls

Pearlcore has been alive and well for a while now, but it doesn’t seem to be subsiding, especially when people like Harry Styles and Hailey Bieber keep wearing pearly accessories like chokers. Now that pearls and their affordable alternatives have been OK’d for street style, there’s no place and no way you can’t wear the look. Pair your pearls with gym wear or dresses. They’ll look fab regardless.

Empire Waist Babydoll Dresses

Who would’ve thought that the empire waist would make a comeback after the disservice we did it in the early 2000s? I’m looking at you and your red carpet looks, Ashley Tisdale. Somehow, the cut has been revolutionized, and is hard not to spot at festivals and fashion shows alike. Usually, it’s paired with a babydoll top and flowy bottom, so it’s an extremely comfortable way to look dolled up (see what I did there?) without feeling restricted.

Dresses that weren’t embellished often featured vibrant floral patterns—Florals? For Bridgerton? Groundbreaking. I’ll probably wait until spring to rock such vibrant prints, but for now, wintery dark florals are just as good.

When it comes to accessorizing, the more, the merrier! Go grand when it comes to jewelry, hair accessories and whatever else you can think of. Granted, this would be easier if I had Bridgerton family money or a gift from the queen, but I’ll make due.

The number one rule in Regency London? If it can be beaded or embellished, it should be! Sparkles, rhinestones and glitz were key in making sure bachelorettes stood out at the balls and social events of the season.
