What is NCLEX?

NCLEX is a form of test international nursing graduates participate in to earn nursing licenses in the United States, Canada and Australia. There are two types of NCLEX: I. NCLEX-RN and II. NCLEX-PN. A nursing graduate participates in NCLEX-RN to earn the license of a registered nurse while one participates in NCLEX-PN to earn the license of a practical nurse.

How Much NCLEX Costs?

Examinations fees for both NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN are equal. To participate in each exam will cost you $200. Additional NCLEX exam costs will depend on which State Board of Nursing you applied for. To apply for NCLEX, you can send your NCLEX application to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. You can also resister your NCLEX application through a phone call but you will have to pay an additional $9.50 service fee for phone registration.

What are the Requirements to Apply for NCLEX?

It will be unfair if we are discussing a study guide and do not mention the requirements to apply for NCLEX. To be eligible to apply for an NCLEX exam, firstly you must be be a resisted nurse (RN) of Nepal. Other requirements depend on which state of which country you apply for a nursing license.

What Type of Questions Are Asked in NCLEX?

Basically, questions in an NCLEX exam are asked from four sections and each section is equally important to pass the NCLEX exam with a high score. The categories of questions are:

I. Safe and Effective Care Environment: Questions dealing with patient care, preventions of injuries and infections, pediatric patients’ safety, laboratory tests and their results etc.

II. Health Promotion and Maintenance: Questions related to pregnancy, labor, delivery, pregnancy symptoms and complications, infant care, birth control measures, pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted diseases etc.

III. Psychological Integrity: Questions dealing with psychiatric problems, organic mental disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, crisis intervention, schizophrenia etc.

IV. Physiological Integrity: Questions dealing with diabetes, infectious diseases, neurological disorders, renal diseases, respiratory diseases, skin disorders etc.
